Swim lessons are Monday – Thursday for 30 minutes per class, with Friday as a rain date. All swim lessons are held at the Agnes Nolting Aquatic Complex. Class ratio is six (6) children to one (1) instructor. Maximum of six (6) children per class.

Children are introduced to buoyancy, breath control and introduces basic water skills. Usually 3 to 5 years of age.
Children learn unsupported floating, kicking and beginning swimming skills. Front crawl and back crawl are introduced. Usually ages 5 to 8.
Children learn elementary backstroke, kneeling dive and continue to work on front crawl and back crawl. Usually ages 6 to 10.
Children are introduced to sidestroke, deep water bobbing, breaststroke kick and continues to work on other strokes. Usually ages 8 to 11.
Children become familiar with dolphin kick, treading water, breaststroke and continues developing previously learned strokes. Usually 9 to 13.
Children are introduced to the butterfly, front and back crawl flip turns and increased endurance.
Children refine and review all strokes and turns. Junior life guarding skills are taught.
•Resident = lives inside the City limits of Washington. To receive the resident discount, you must show proof of residency (e.g. Water Bill)
•General = lives outside the City limits of Washington
•Refunds will be made up to two (2) weeks prior to the beginning of the program. Once the program begins, partial refunds may be granted on an individual basis at the discretion of the Parks and Recreation Department. Refunds will be given for all programs cancelled by the Parks and Recreation Department.
•Cancellations will be placed on the Parks and Recreation Department Facebook page.
