Busch Creek Disc Golf Course at Burger Park

Busch Creek Disc Golf Course opened in 2019 and is an 18-hole disc golf course designed by Gateway Disc Golf.  The front 9 holes are mostly flat for beginner players and are located on top of the vacant City landfill.  The back 9 holes are across Busch Creek on the wooded portion of Burger Park and provide more a challenge.  Course amenities include practice tees, driving net, water fountain, canopy, picnic tables, portable restroom and ample parking.

Burger Park History:
In 1973 James G. Burger sold 15 acres and donated 10 acres to the City of Washington.  The Burger family requested if the park could be named in memory of Mr. & Mrs. C.J. Burger. The City received a federal grant from the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation (BOR) to assist with the purchase of the 10 acres.  The 10 acres was stipulated by the BOR for park purposes only.  In the 1970s a nearby City landfill was at capacity and the 15 acres the Burger family sold to the City became a landfill in 1977.  By 1983 the landfill was full and ceased operations.  In 1984 Burger Park opened on top of the vacant landfill with youth athletic fields.  In the early 2000s the park served as dog park but is currently a disc golf course which opened in 2019.

Busch Creek Disc Golf Course Rules:
•Course/park is open from sunrise to sunset, per City ordinance
•Smoking is prohibited, per DNR’s permit for landfill locations
•Pets must be on a 6’ leash, per City ordinance
•Owners must pick up after their pets
•No motorized vehicles outside of the designated parking area
•Camping and camp fires are not allowed, per City ordinance
•Fireworks are not allowed, per City ordinance
•Place trash in the proper receptacles
•Do not throw across a road/street
•Do not alter course in any way
