Day 1 of the fair
Male was arrested on active warrants during a disturbance investigation at the riverfront.
Welfare check at Best Western, the male in question was fine.
Female was arrested on active warrants during a disturbance investigation on East 14th Street.
Alarm sounding on A Roy Drive, building checked to be secure and was turned over to management.
Suspicious persons/vehicle checks based on citizen complaints in the area of JC Penny's and Meriwether Drive.
Code violation complaints (tall grass/overgrown vegetation)

Due to the Fair, the normal trash routes for Thursday and Friday will be altered, and trash may be picked up earlier in the day than usual. Your trash will still be collected on your normally scheduled day, but please make sure to place trash at the curb the night before or by 5:30 a.m. so it is not missed.

Peace disturbance reported in the 1200 block of Deer Run Drive. Parties were separated.
Peace disturbance on Southwinds Drive. Parties were separated.
Alarm in the 1400 block of High Street. Accidental.
Wallet was turned in that was located in the 5000 block of Highway 100.

Products made from plastic breakdown into microplastic in an aquatic environment over time. Via the food chain they end up in human bodies and are known to cause a variety of health problems. Reducing your use of plastic products and recycling as much as possible will help keep plastic out of our water and out of our bodies. #plasticfree

Great Decisions 2024 starts its 8-week session on Wednesday, August 7, at 1 p.m. This is a repeat of the winter program. Sessions are every Wednesday at 1 p.m. in August and September.


The library will close at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 9, for cleaning and will be closed all day Saturday, August 10. We will re-open with regular hours on Sunday, August 11, noon - 4 p.m.

Vehicle was stopped in the area of East 8th Street and Schaper Avenue for a traffic violation. Subject operating the vehicle was found to have a suspended driving privilege. Subject was arrested.
Subject was contacted regarding an reported assault outside of our venue. Subject was found to have several outstanding warrants and was arrested.
Alarm in the 600 block of International Avenue. Accidental.
Subject was stopped in the area of East 14th Street and Highway 47. Subject was found to have outstanding warrants. Subject was arrested.
Checked the well being of a subject on A. Roy Drive. They were fine but they were having vehicle trouble.
Assisted EMS in the 300 block of Elm Street.

The Phoenix Park Tennis Courts will be closed this Monday-Friday (August 5-9) for maintenance.

Found Property in the 100 Block of W. Main.
Assist WFD in the 500 Block of E. 8th.
The object in the river between the new parking lot and the old parking lot that is bobbing up and down and does not look like a traditional buoy is in fact the buoy it just has been damaged and has been reported. We have received numerous calls about it over the last week or so, and that is what was located.

It was a beautiful morning for the WFD & Friends Run/Walk Team to kick off fair week! You know it's serious competition when Assistant Chief Skornia wears his flaming head bandana!

Numerous interactions with local homeless individuals. Suspicious vehicles/persons, traffic enforcement activities, subject arrested as a result of a stealing investigation. Domestic dispute handled on Stafford Street, Assisted Childrens Division in a child abuse complaint/investigation, extra patrols, and building checks.
