Night Shift Summary 05/19/2024 Subject was stopped in the 800 block of Jefferson Street for a traffic offense. Subject was found to be driving on a revoked driving status. Subject was arrested. Property found on Washington Crossing and turned into the Police Department. The owner was located and the property was returned. Subject was stopped for a traffic offense in the 500 block of East 5th Street. The subject was found to be driving on a suspended driving status. Subject was arrested. Barking dog complaint on Riverview Place.

Shift Summary - Days 5/19/24 A suspicious person was reported in the 700 block of E. 5th St. A check the well being was conducted in the 1000 block of Marylin Ct. A suspicious person was reported in the 700 block of Fremont St. A trespass warning was issued in the 1700 block of A Roy Dr. Assisted EMS in the area of 5th St. and High St. Assisted FCSD in the 5000 block of South Point Rd.

We were so busy at our training center today, we forgot to take pictures! Today our current Fire I/II class successfully completed their live burns and vehicle extrication evaluations as part of their testing for State certification. A day like this requires hard work by the students, the evaluators from outside agencies, and WFD personnel- thank you to all who donated their time (and sweat) today. We would also like to extend a big THANK YOU to Patriot Towing, who graciously provided us with the multiple vehicles that we needed today. Thanks to the generous donations of time and material, the Washington Fire Department Training Center now has a working fire protection system. This allows for firefighter hands-on training on an actual system that is fully functional. We would like to thank: Engineered Fire Protection for design time and materials, Potter Electric Signal for the panels and switches, Viking Corporation for the valves and trim, and Lieutenant Matt Frankenberg for his countless hours of design and installation. We appreciate the support of such great partners.

Night Shift Summary 05/18/2024 Vehicle crash on High Street at 7th Street. 3 vehicles involved, minor injuries. Private property traffic crash in the 1000 East 5th Street. One of the parties did not have insurance and was issued a citation. Overdose in the 200 block of Wenona Drive. Subject took too much of their medication. Subject was stopped on East 5th Street near Walnut Street for a traffic violation. Subject was found to have outstanding warrants and was arrested. Peace disturbance in the 600 block of Roberts Street. Subjects were asked to keep the noise down. Peace disturbance on A. Roy Drive. Two subjects were arguing. They were separated for the evening. Alarm in the 1500 block of High Street. Accidental by employee.

**FYI** The red stoplights are out on southbound Jefferson Street at the intersection of Jefferson and Eighth. ONLY the RED LIGHTS are out. Please use caution at the intersection.

Shift Summary - Night 05/17/24 Alarm on Charlotte's Way. Building was checked and everything was fine. Loud music in the 1200 block of Jefferson Street. Subjects were asked to keep the noise down. Assisted EMS in the 1600 block of West 5th Street. Subject was left in care of EMS. A subject was called in asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle in the 200 block of West Main Street. Subject was contacted and was found to be intoxicated. Subject was arrested for DWI. Assisted WFD in the 800 block of Missouri Avenue. Peace disturbance in the 600 block of Roberts Street. Subjects were asked to keep the noise down.

This week, we trained on gasoline/diesel fuel tankers (thank you, Councilmember Patke!) and boat operations. It was also nice to see all the kids at the bike rodeo this morning! #wfd #volunteerfiredepartment #washmo

Popular Scam #1 One of the most frequently used scams is when the victim receives a phone call from a person whom sounds like a family member i.e. a son, daughter, granddaughter, grandson etc. saying they are in jail and need bail/ bond money to satisfy a warrant. The person (suspect) will either request you to obtain this money in the form of gift cards, or they may claim to be sending their lawyer to your house to pick up the cash. They will have information such as your family members’ name, address, your address, etc. This information is found online typically. The suspect may also instruct you to tell no one and many times will keep you on the phone while you are in the process of obtaining the funds. Please do not fall for this scam!

Last night MADD held their annual "Heroes for Heroes" Award Banquet, where St. Louis Area Law Enforcement Officers are recognized for their efforts in DWI Enforcement. Three Washington Police Department Officers were nominated and received awards. Congratulations Officer Kelley, Officer Chaplin, and Officer Day for your recognition. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IF YOU RECEIVE A PHONE CALL FROM A PERSON STATING THAT A RELATIVE HAS BEEN INJURED OR SOMETHING ELSE MAY HAPPEN TO A RELATIVE UNLESS YOU SEND THEM MONEY, PLEASE CONTACT THAT POLICE DEPARTMENT BEFORE SENDING ANY MONEY BECAUSE IT IS MORE THAN LIKELY A SCAM.

*HIGHWAY 100 WORK ZONE TO CONTINUE THURSDAY, MAY 16 THRU WEDNESDAY, MAY 22* Work to shift to daytime work zone and restrictions. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Highway 100 from Washington Crossing to South Point Road will have one eastbound and westbound lane closed.
