On Monday (August 19), students will be returning to school. Please be mindful of the following: *Traffic will be heavier in the mornings between 7:00 & 8:30 and in the afternoons between 2:00 and 4:00. Watch for increased pedestrian and vehicle traffic, especially around schools. * Obey school bus flashing lights and stop signs. * Watch speed limit changes in school zones. * Stay off cell phones and pay attention to what's going on around you. * Obey directions given by school crossing guards. *Follow established pick up and drop off procedures set forth by your child's school. For those walking or riding bikes: * Pay attention, don't assume traffic sees you. Stay off your cell phone as much as possible. If you're listening to music or an audio book, keep the volume down to where you can still hear traffic. *Walkers, use sidewalks or stay to the far edge of the roadway. Don't walk in traffic. Also, don't cross streets unless you're at a cross walk or intersection. Do not attempt to cross the roadway from between parked cars. * Bike riders, don't blow through stop signs, and ride safely.
