Parking complaint on Southbend Drive due to a game going on. Only 1 vehicle was located that was parked in a no parking zone.
Solicitor on the parking lot of Target. Subject was asked to move along.
Assisted EMS in the 1700 block of East 5th Street. Subject had fallen and hurt their leg. Subject was transported by EMS.
Subject was stopped for careless and reckless driving on a 49cc motorcycle in the area of West 5th Street and West Pride Drive. Subject's driving privilege was found to be revoked. Subject was arrested for driving while revoked.

A domestic disturbance in the area of HWY 100 and Bieker Road.
A vehicle was stolen from the area of E 5th Street and Madison Ave.
A subject was issued a citation in the area of Rock Crest and King Crest for dog running at large.

Writing History from a Minority Perspective

American history was often written by the majority, but today’s research reveals heroes in unexpected places—like the Mexican boxcar communities of Kansas City. Modern generations now celebrate bold women like lady bootleggers and flapper girls who led industries during a time when opportunities for women, especially women of color, were scarce. Desideria Mesa, an author of historical and historical fantasy novels, poetry, and songs, loves telling the stories of these women and weaving in the music of past eras.

On Wednesday, September 11, Cardinal Lane will be closed due to asphalt sealing. Disc Golf will be closed all day.
On Thursday, September 12, and Friday, September 13, the West Trail will be closed due to asphalt sealing.
This could change due to weather.

Join award-winning author of the Kingdom Keepers and Lou Boldt series, Ridley Pearson, for an exciting presentation on the art of storytelling on Friday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Washington High School’s CJB Theater. This event is part of the 2024 Missouri Book Festival.
Ridley will guide writers and readers of all ages through his process of observation, “livening,” and editing. The talk will feature stories of his experiences working with Disney and direct examples from his own published writing. Following his talk, there will be an interactive Q&A and book signing.
