Shift Summary - Night 05/17/24 Alarm on Charlotte's Way. Building was checked and everything was fine. Loud music in the 1200 block of Jefferson Street. Subjects were asked to keep the noise down. Assisted EMS in the 1600 block of West 5th Street. Subject was left in care of EMS. A subject was called in asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle in the 200 block of West Main Street. Subject was contacted and was found to be intoxicated. Subject was arrested for DWI. Assisted WFD in the 800 block of Missouri Avenue. Peace disturbance in the 600 block of Roberts Street. Subjects were asked to keep the noise down.

This week, we trained on gasoline/diesel fuel tankers (thank you, Councilmember Patke!) and boat operations. It was also nice to see all the kids at the bike rodeo this morning! #wfd #volunteerfiredepartment #washmo

Popular Scam #1 One of the most frequently used scams is when the victim receives a phone call from a person whom sounds like a family member i.e. a son, daughter, granddaughter, grandson etc. saying they are in jail and need bail/ bond money to satisfy a warrant. The person (suspect) will either request you to obtain this money in the form of gift cards, or they may claim to be sending their lawyer to your house to pick up the cash. They will have information such as your family members’ name, address, your address, etc. This information is found online typically. The suspect may also instruct you to tell no one and many times will keep you on the phone while you are in the process of obtaining the funds. Please do not fall for this scam!

Last night MADD held their annual "Heroes for Heroes" Award Banquet, where St. Louis Area Law Enforcement Officers are recognized for their efforts in DWI Enforcement. Three Washington Police Department Officers were nominated and received awards. Congratulations Officer Kelley, Officer Chaplin, and Officer Day for your recognition. Thank you for your outstanding effort in keeping our roads safe.

A minor in possession report in the 400 Block of E. 14th Street. A larceny report in the 1900 Block of Charlotte's Way. Check the well-being in the 1000 Block of Jefferson. A larceny report in the 3100 Block of Phoenix Center Dr. Larceny report in the 4700 Block of Southpoint Road. Homeless activity in the 1800 Block of E. 9th. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IF YOU RECEIVE A PHONE CALL FROM A PERSON STATING THAT A RELATIVE HAS BEEN INJURED OR SOMETHING ELSE MAY HAPPEN TO A RELATIVE UNLESS YOU SEND THEM MONEY, PLEASE CONTACT THAT POLICE DEPARTMENT BEFORE SENDING ANY MONEY BECAUSE IT IS MORE THAN LIKELY A SCAM.

*HIGHWAY 100 WORK ZONE TO CONTINUE THURSDAY, MAY 16 THRU WEDNESDAY, MAY 22* Work to shift to daytime work zone and restrictions. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Highway 100 from Washington Crossing to South Point Road will have one eastbound and westbound lane closed.

*Police Memorial Ceremony* Neighbors of the PD, please do not use the front parking lot of the PD today from 6 a.m. - 11 a.m. so we can have as much room as possible. Once we're finished, the lot will be reopened. The PD Records Office and City Hall will be closed during the ceremony so staff can attend. Our Dispatch Center will remain operational.

Night Shift Summary 05/14/2024 Peace disturbance reported on Fieldcrest Court. Subject was asked to keep the noise down. Alarm in the 500 block of East 5th Street. Accidental. Non-injury private property crash reported in Washington Corners. Subjects were causing a disturbance in the 500 block of West Front Street. The subjects were found to be intoxicated and were taken into protective custody. They were later released to a sober party.
