Route 47 Missouri River Bridge Construction Update

As construction moves forward on the new Route 47 Missouri River Bridge, the City would like to remind everyone about the potential for minor traffic impacts during off-peak hours, and that the speed limit in the area is 40 mph. This is a construction zone. People are encouraged to do the speed limit through the area for your safety and the safety of the crews out on and near the road. Trucks will continue to deliver and unload materials to the construction site, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. This requires crews to momentarily stop traffic on the Warren County side of Route 47 to allow the trucks to pull on and off the road.

In addition, please remember the construction site is strictly off limit. That includes the portion of the Rotary Riverfront Trail (between the bridge and the sand plant) that is closed. All closed areas are clearly marked with no trespassing signs.

Bluff Road Improvement Project

The Bluff Road construction project has entered Phase 2 of construction. To view a Construction Schedule and Access Map please click here and to view a Truck Route and Detour Map click here.

The Vossbrink / Highway 100 traffic signal is temporary through the 90 day duration of the Bluff Road Reconstruction Project.  The signal is on a timer system and motorists may experience stopping at the intersection with no cross traffic.  Motorists will need to continue to abide by all traffic laws and regulations.  The City of Washington and MoDOT are working diligently with Hwy 100 motorists, the school district, and workers within the industrial park to maximize the system as much as possible.

We sincerely appreciate your continued patience, and please remember, this is a temporary traffic signal that will be removed once the Bluff Road Project is complete.
