Street Maintenance Worker I (Laborer)

General Purpose of Position:
Completes maintenance of public facilities and works on capital projects as assigned

Major Duties Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
•Maintains City grounds and related properties
•Maintains City buildings and facilities
•Maintains City equipment
•Performs other duties related to departmental activities
•Completes construction projects as assigned

Marginal Duties and Responsibilities:
•Performs other duties as directed

Required Education and Experience:
•High school diploma or equivalent
•One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
•Must be able to read and write in English

Preferred Education and Experience:
•Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
•One year of general maintenance experience is desirable
•An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Licenses and Certifications:
•The person in this position must have a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s Missouri driver’s license within one year of employment
